Seit Dessaus bestehen, gab es viele Hochwasser. Die erst schwere Flut, war Berichten zu Folge im Jahr 1845. Damals erreichte das Hochwasser einen Pegel, welcher fast dem aus dem Jahre 2002 gleicht.
