Valley Inn Fire Department - Firehouses on Waymarking.com

In August of 1963, a group of men got together from the Valley Inn area decided that a second fire company was needed to protect the residents of the western half of Carroll Township. Thanks to the help from other local fire departments, the new fire department elected the first officers and adopted the West Carroll Volunteer Fire Department. After receiving a temporary charter, many fundraisers were put under way to help with funding. The meetings were held at the Carroll Township Supervisors building until the acquisition of the property were the current station stands today. Finally, in December of 1964, a permanent charter was applied for and was granted to the Valley Inn Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. The original roster had a membership of 42 people.
