The Büchel of Zunzgen is clearly visible at the southern end of the village. The man-made mound is the landmark of the municipality. The original meaning of the place was forgotten centuries ago, so that different legends tried to explain the structure. After the best known one, here is the tomb of Attila the Hun. Various excavations showed that the mound with 6,000 m3 was the base of an early medieval castle.

There is a way up to the top of Büchel. From there you have an overview over Zuzgen and neighboring Sissach in the north, as well as the different hills in the area, especially the cliffs at the south slope of Sissacherfluh.
