The Cathédrale Notre-Dame, which is the cathedrale of Strasbourg, France, Alsace is a huge Gothic building. It is also presented on an old French stamp.

The stamp has been issued in 1939 for the 500th anniversary of finishing of the cathedrale. It has been built 1176 to 1439.

'At 142 metres (466 feet), it was the world's tallest building from 1647 to 1874 (227 years), when it was surpassed by St. Nikolai's Church, Hamburg. Today it is the sixth-tallest church in the world and the highest still-standing structure built entirely in the Middle Ages.' [source: (visit link) ]
