The Winnipeg IKEA opened November 28, 2012. The store is a 390,000-square-foot building, has 40 checkouts, 55 showrooms, a 650-seat restaurant — one of the largest in Canada, 800 shopping carts, and the largest kids' playground of any IKEA location — and revolving doors, which is a first among IKEA stores in this country.
It is a 1.3km (.8 m) walk from the front door to the checkouts.
