Eingerahmt von wildromantischen Wäldern, schroffen Felsen und weiten Feldern liegt Zschopau, eine alte Stadt im mittleren Erzgebirge. Die Wurzeln des Ortsnamens findet man im gleichnamigen Fluss. Zschopau erhielt 1493 die Privilegien einer "Freien Bergstadt".
