"Inserido num terreno localizado perto do adro da igreja paroquial de Caldelas, este monumento de carácter devocional constituí um dos poucos exemplares conhecidos no Noroeste peninsular com inscrições honoríficas dedicadas ao imperador romano Trajano (98-117 d. C.), cujo conteúdo apresenta informações preciosas para um melhor entendimento da ampliação do culto imperial observado no actual território português ao longo do séc. II d. C.
Composta de um penedo granítico, foram afeiçoadas três faces planas na sua superfície, cada uma com cerca de três metros de altura. A lápide apresenta diversas inscrições, a mais antiga das quais revela um louvor ao imperador Trajano datável de 104 d. C. Já nos inícios do século XIX, a edilidade vimarenense mandou aperfeiçoar as letras da inscrição primitiva, ao mesmo tempo que inscrever uma tradução por baixo do texto original latino."

"Housed in a field located near the churchyard of the parish church of Caldelas, this monument of devotional character constitutes one of the few known examples in northwestern peninsular honorific inscriptions dedicated to the Roman emperor Trajan (98-117 d. C.), whose content provides valuable information to a better understanding of the observed expansion of the imperial cult in the current Portuguese territory throughout the century. II d. C.
Consisting of a granite boulder, were fond three flat faces on its surface, each about three feet tall. The stone has several inscriptions, the oldest of which reveals a praise to the Emperor Trajan datable to 104 d. C. Already in the early nineteenth century, the city council improve early letters of the inscription, while signing a translation below the original Latin text."
