Golden Spoon Frozen Yogurt has been an establishment since 1983. This franchise is located in Anaheim and is one of many located in Orange County. The following text comes from the Golden Spoon website:

The Golden Spoon story began in 1981 as an outgrowth of "Yogurt and Things," a health food store in Tustin, California acquired by Golden Spoon founder Jeff Barnes in 1980. Within a year, Barnes opted to leave the "Things" behind and focus solely on frozen yogurt with the goal of creating a more broadly appealing, and healthier frozen dessert than anything available on the market at the time. Barnes succeeded and sales at his original Tustin store more than doubled within those first few years. In 1983, the Golden Spoon brand name was born.

As the frozen yogurt craze of the 1980s tapered off, Barnes focused on refining the company's identity as the "ice cream lover's frozen yogurt" by creating its own recipes that used premium formulations and provided them at a value for its loyal customers. A food science outsider, Barnes was undaunted by the many things that "couldn't be done," taking on challenges such as translating citrus flavors into a dairy form. By 1986, Golden Spoon had begun to manufacture many of its top selling flavors like Old Fashion Vanilla, Just Chocolate, Peanut Butter, and Fresh Strawberry. Additional flavors were added each year and by 2002, there were more than 50 custom built flavors available from a list of more than 65 proprietary formulations. By 2008, that list had grown to more than 80 flavors with the addition of record-setting flavors like Cake Batter, Orange 50/50, Pumpkin Pie, and Chocolate Malt.

Today, Golden Spoon's leadership continues to focus on refining its product and process to deliver an ultra-premium quality product to its customers.

Our family patronized this establishment one evening and were a little surprised that we weren't able to serve our own yogurt or add our own toppings, it is done by the hired help. In any case, this frozen yogurt business is pretty much the same as the others we've frequented, nothing here stood out as one to remember.
