In the film plot; Lt. Commander Data is on a mission to observe and study the Ba'ku race. The peaceful Ba'ku, whose planet offers regenerative radiation and therefore incredible lifespans, live in harmony with nature and reject any kind of technology.
The Ba'ku village location is on the lake's southeast section near a long inlet bay that ended in a swampy flat area. Follow a large well-used dirt road that goes along the S.E. shore direction of a swampy inlet or bay. There were a few rusting pieces of movie location equipment along the roadside left. Be sure to look closely at the rocky hillsides and orientation of the lakeshore & lay of the land. At that narrow point of the lake inlet, the land opens into a lovely large 4-acre flat lakeside meadow area with small rocky outcroppings on its edge. Look for the large partially buried concrete anchor footings on the lake edge exactly where the Ba'ku foot bridge was built across the inlet. Look for the steel pipe drainage system that was used to keep the pasture film location from being flooded during the spring rains of '98. Look for the large white plastic 6" pipe that was used to pump lake water into the many ornamental ponds. There are also some small construction materials and debris on the site.
