The former locations of the salt evaporation ponds of Santa Iria are now a privileged area for birdswatching and thanks to the brand new leisure area builted around the ponds, also to run, take a walk or a bike ride.
Along with those features, a small museum is also available and during my visit to the location, i was able to see for the first time a thing labeled "Salt Cookie" (if i remember right), a piece of salt with the size of a small bread (didn't take a single picture of it).
Of what i´ve been able to discover online, in 2008, some of the said ponds, near Solvay, were still in use. Not these.
