The Mount Sentinel Village Farm located in South Slocan is part of the Twelve Tribes network of organic farms, cafés, and bakeries. They supply food items to their locally owned businesses.
This farm was established in 2000 and is still in operation today. It consists of 140 acres of farm land, trees, livestock grazing and housing, vegetable gardens and other facilities for milk and cheese processing, bakery and other barns and outbuildings.
We were able to speak with several members and found them to be friendly and informative. We were invited to return for Sunday services. The farm is well maintained and all the animals seen contented and healthy. We enjoyed our visit.
All members adhere to strict religious doctrines, home schooling, a communal life style and other beliefs far too lengthy to include here. There are controversies surrounding the life style members have chosen to live and the philosophies they prescribe.
