The Deerfield Presbyterian Church was founded in 1737. The current church building was constructed in 1771. The building is constructed of a stone called "Jersey sandstone", a conglomerate of sand and pebbles bound together with iron ore. The church has had additions and several renovations over the years including an extensive renovation in 1947. The church is surrounded by a churchyard cemetery with graves dating to the 18th century including graves of several Revolutionary War veterans. The church building is in excellent condition and continues to serve its active congregation.
