Located in San Diego's Kearny Mesa neighborhood, Roadrunner Sports, a sports equipment outlet, has preserved the footprints of several apparently notable runners in cement slabs at its entrance.
The plaque indicates that the "Run of Fame" was dedicated November 13, 1999 to honor the legends of running, both living and deceased from elite athletes to ordinary people who have done extraordinary things.
This slab has the prints of Grete Waitz without any further explanation.
