This depot was built in 1890 by the Burlington Cedar rapids & Northern Railroad, then sold to the Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Railroad in 1902.

The City of Pipestone MN bought it in the 1980s, renovated it, and listed it on the US National Register of Historic Places. Now it is an art gallery.

The railroad tracks it used to serve were removed decades ago.
