Northeast Academy was constructed as Northeast High School in 1936, and is a WPA/PWA project. The building is a three-story Carthage stone block school which has several engraved medallions, quotations and frieze artwork pieces.
This quotation from the Bible is engraved on a stone panel to the right of the main entrance which faces southwest. The quotation reads:
