Outside of Fischen im Allgäu, Germany, Bayern was a so-called 'KZ-Außenlager' of the concentration camp KZ Dachau located.

The camp has been established in November 1944 as one of 169 exterior camps of the KZ Dachau. It was used for work in the defense industry. The prisoners worked in the local textile industry and created parts for airplanes for 'Messerschmitt'.

There had been 300 prisoners at the camp. They came from Soviet Union, Poland, Belgium, Austria, Italia and Germany. They were guarded by 18 SS men. The camp was contrary to a command in April 1945 closed, leaving the prisoners to their fate.

Nowadays, you can find only remnants of walls and ruins of the original three barracks in the forest. The city Fischen has placed a plaque with further information.
