This Armenian post stamp issued in 2013 depicts recently constructed Church of Holy Archangels, a part of Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin ecclesiastic complex in Etchmiadzin (Vagharshapat), which from 2011 serves especially to Theological Seminary students.

The new seminary church of the Holy Archangels was completed thanks to a gift from an anonymous donor in November 2011. This impressive church overlooking the main square of the city of Etchmiadzin is the first structure to hit the eye of the tourist. The seminary church symbolizes the fact that the Armenian Apostolic Church is a vital and growing church thanks to the Christ-centered zeal of her new generation of clergy. Significant benefactors of the Mother See during Catholicos Karekin II’s pontificate are recognized with khatchkars – stone-crosses and lanterns placed throughout the interior of the chapel and the church’s basement which contains the final resting places for prominent national benefactors.
