In 1771, the then inhabitants of the palace, the Amtmann Brockes, sundial set up in the palace garden. In 1992, sundial was removed due to severe erosion. In 1995, a replica of the sundial on initative of the Association "Bürger für das Schloss Ritzebüttel" situated at the entrance of the park at the Südersteinstrasse.
