The Piottino Gorge is located north of the village Rodi-Fiesso; this narrow gap has been a major obstacle on the way to the Gotthard pass for many centuries. The gap is crowded with the motorway, a two-lane local road, a double-track railway line and the recently restored mule track that make their way through tunnels and loops.
The mule track is the only one from where the waterfall is visible, it is accessible for pedestrians and bikes and branches off the main road just after the first rock north of the village. The track leads along this waterfall, and several other smaller ones.
