Duncan is the county seat of Stephens County; its Fuqua Park is the home of the county's historical museum. The park is located at the SE corner of W. Beech Ave. & US 81 and is open from 5:00 a.m. till 11:00 p.m. Access is off of Beech. The museum is at the park's far south end.

The museum contains a gift shop as well as a snack shop. Most of the museum's exhibits are set up in natural settings; e.g., a dentist's office, a school room, a Native American area, etc. They cover the area's prehistory to fairly modern times.

During your visit, don't overlook the parks many other features: the railroad museum, the Kiddieland amusement park complete with a full-size merry-go-round & toy train, the other examples of WPA architecture, the chance to picnic under a full-size oil derrick instead of a plain picnic table!
