The Hermitage plantation was the home of Andrew Jackson, 7th President of the United States. President Jackson owned the property from 1804 until his death in 1845. The original Hermitage mansion was a two story brick fuilding and was buil between 1819 and 1821. The structure was remodeled and the façade was added in 1931. The building that you see to day was completed in 1836. President Jackson, his wife Rachel and several members of the Jackson Family are buried in the garden adjacent to the mansion
The Hermitage is open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years). Admission for adults is $12.00
