This sign went under extensive renovation in 2011 with funding from Tom Dobrich, the owner of the plaza and past president of the former grocery store. The sign was first installed in 1954.

The Yorktown Square Shopping Centre sign is the only sign to be included on Windsor's heritage list according to John Calhun, the city's heritage planner.
