Christ Church dates from 1838. According to Dolly Allen (in 1999) of the Ottawa Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society, this is the oldest Anglican Cemetery in the Township of West Carleton as attested to by the memorial plaques which appear in three places on the property. When the land became scarce for burials, some families began using the Carp United Cemetery, Con. 3 when it became United in 1926.According to the list of monumental inscriptions, the cemetery contains more than 800 burials.
