This Mold-a-Rama machine makes a brown plastic Seal for $2.00 US. It takes two $1.00 bills. At the time of posting, it was one of two Mold-a-Rama machines under a covered cabana vending area. This Seal mold maker shares the space with the SA Zoo Koala machine (SA Mold #8) that cranks out blue plastic Koala bears. Each of the molding machines only had one animal per machine.
After entering the zoo from the main entrance, turn right along the main pathway. You will go toward the Reptile House and a little beyond to get to the Leopard's Lair Gift Shop. Clustered around the Leopard's Lair are two penny smashers, the only quarter smasher in the zoo, and two Mold-a-Rama machines, all within 50 feet or so of each other. One of the Mold-a-Ramas will be this featured Seal souvenir maker. It will be next to the Koala bear mold maker. Both mold maker machines are just outside the Women's public restrooms, and across the path from the penny smasher machine that contains impressions of a lizard, a turtle, and a frog. One more penny smasher is only a few yards away, next to the only Quarter smasher in the zoo. These are found next to the Leopard's Lair Gift Shop.
The San Antonio Zoological Gardens and Aquarium will be 100 years old in 2014 and renovations to sections of the zoo are underway in 2013 to improve the exhibits for the big birthday year. Admission cost for Adults (ages 12-61) are $12, children (ages 4-11) are $9.50, Senior Adults (ages 62-up) are $9.50, and children 3 years or younger are free. The SA Zoo is open 365 days a year from 9:00am to 5:00pm.
