The backwater is home to many kinds of waterfowl, many which can be seen in great numbers during the spring and fall migration. This viewing spot is located in the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife and Fish Refuge which extends from Wabasha, Minnesota to Rock Island, Illinois.
