This blacksmith shop is a replica of the one owned by Jesse Hoover, father of President Herbert Hoover from 1871 to 1878. This building was constructed in 1957 from barn boards dating back to the Hoovers’ time period. It was built on the same plot of ground as the original and designed from family sketches of the shop.
