The visitor centre was, unfortunately, closed when we visited, as it was just a touch too early in the year. The payphone was operational though. It had a number on it so we dialed it. Typical digitized bell sound, though not terribly loud - I guess they figure that if anyone is receiving a call on this phone, they're likely to be standing right beside it, waiting.
