16 km. south of Kaslo or 4.5 km. north of Ainsworth Hot Springs is where one would find this boat. It looks like an old fishing trawler, or possibly even an old tug boat. Either way, it likely spent its working life chugging up and down the waters of Kootenay Lake, which is about 250 metres east of where it now rests.
100 years ago tugs were used extensively on all the major waterways of the area, herding log booms and pushing barges hither and yon.
