Spectacular AO, a painted steel sculpture of eyeglass frames. It was created by blacksmith-artist Michael J. Saari in 2010 and dedicated to the workers of the American Optical Company. The sculpture is installed in front of the old headquarters of the American Optical Company in October 2010.
The classic black horned-rimmed frames are displayed forming an equilateral triangle. One arm forms the base, the lens frames form one side and the second arm forms the third side. The height of the sculpture is 20 feet, according to the artist's website. On the nose bridge is the logo of the American Optical Company, AO.
A nearby bronze plaque is inscribed:
