Jones Falls is a secluded cascade reached by a spur off the famous Appalachian Trail. Come after a hard rain as the feed stream can be down to a trickle during the summer. Best time to see is spring.

The parking access given below is from the much larger Elk River Falls. Follow the forest service road to the Elk River, and then a narrow, sandy fisherman trail. (Total distance for these first two steps is roughly 0.6 mi.) Cross the small Jones Branch creek and head steeply uphill to reach the Appalachian Trail. Turn left to follow the white blazes (south bound) for 0.7 mi until you see the wood sign at the blue-blazed spur trail. Another 0.1 mi will arrive at the base of the falls.

Be carefull as several folks have been injured while climbing around the falls.
