Ruthless steel magnate Andrew Carnegie's philanthropy built a library in Downs KS that has been serving the community for 108 years (2013). This property was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1987.

The Early 20th Century Eclectic-style Downs KS Carnegie Library has been serving as the Downs KS library since 1905. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. This is one of 2 Carnegie Libraries in KS not built in a county seat. Source: (visit link)

Blasterz enjoyed the hospitality and free wi-fi here, since there is no cell service around these parts for our cell phones and laptops to use.

The librarian here is very funny, and extra helpful to the tourists from afar! :)
