Grand Forks to Eholt - Trans Canada Trail - Grand Forks, BC - Hiking and walking trailheads on Waymarking.com

The Trans Canada Trail is the longest hiking/biking trail in the world, running from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific and the Arctic Oceans and, as such, is divided into hundreds of separate, manageable sized sections. This section goes from Grand Forks to the ghost town of Eholt.

This section of the trail is 22.4 km. in length and is divided into three subsections: Goat Mountain - 9 km., Fisherman Station Trail - 7.9 km., and Hodges Station Trail - 5.5 km. It climbs gradually up to the Eholt summit and the ghost town and old railway station site of Eholt.

The trail follows the Columbia & Western Rail Trail for part of the journey and forestry roads for part of it, all of it being wilderness trail. The Hodges Station Trail section passes the site of the old Hodges Station, recognizeable by the old water tower foundation. At the northern end of the Fisherman Station Trail, the trail encounters two railroad tunnels, each of about 150 metres in length.

There is a small amount of parking available each side of the road right at the trailhead.
