The amazing KS State Capitol dome is still gorgeous underneath, even though the outside is covered with scaffolding (Mar 2013).

The KS State Capitol is open for free tours Monday-Friday all year long: (visit link)

January - May
9, 10, and 11 a.m. and 1, 2, and 3 p.m.

June - August
10 a.m, 12 noon, and 2 p.m.

September - December
9 & 11 a.m. and 1 & 3 p.m.

If you don't want a tour, you can come in anytime the building is open to look around. The underside of the dome is simply beautiful! This being Kansas, folks are not rude if you lay down to snap a picture. (Don't do that in Philly.)
