Chapman School, built in 1923, is an active complex which is used by the public for recreation, including several outdoor basketball courts which are nearly always in use. There is also a playground, tennis court, artwork, gardens, and even an annual migration of swifts (birds) that draws thousands of people to the school grounds for the show they provide.
There is a covered area very close by, which is handy for a city that gets as much rain as Portland does! If the game is interupted by rain, the players can head to the covered area to wait it out.
