In einer Zeit großer Sehnsucht nach Frieden entstand die Friedenskirche 1965-67 nach den Plänen des Architekten Eberhard Schultz. Der Kirchturm weist wie der Daumen einer seitlich geöffneten linken Hand zum Himmel. Er lädt in einen Raum ein, der wie die bergende Hand Gottes gestaltet ist. Bemerkenswert sind die schmiedeeisernen Kunstgegenstände Alfred Schmidts und das von Alexander Silveri gestaltete Kruzifix. Die Kirchengemeinde versteht ihren Namen als Auftrag zur Vermittlung ohne auf eine bestimmte Frömmigkeitsrichtung festgelegt zu sein.

In a time of longing for peace, the peace church was built 1965-67 by the architect Eberhard Schultz. The steeple shows like the thumb of a open left hand to the sky. He invites into a space that is designed like the sheltering hand of God. Note the extraordinary iron works of art, made by Alfred Schmidt and the Crucifix designed by Alexander Silveri. The congregation sees itself as an order for mediation without being committed to a particular devotion direction.
