Sapulpa was first settled by, and later named for, Chief Sapulpa, a Lower Creek Indian. The town was chartered in 1898 and in 1998 celebrated its 100th Anniversary. This small downtown park, known as Martha's Corner is one of the town's centennial projects. It honors Martha Meis Aaron, one of the town's pioneer women.
Several hundred pavers are imbedded in the walkways of this small downtown park and show the community support of residents and business in the area. The park has paved walks, benches and shrubs and flower plantings.
