No nameplates could be found on this particular weapon but it appears to be Bofors 40mm/56 Twin-Mount Antiaircraft Gun typically found on naval warships after 1942. They could fire 120 two-pound high-explosive rounds per minute out to a range of about 11,000 yards but the projectiles were typically set to self-destruct after 5000 yards to minimize friendly-fire accidents.
