USCGS Benchmark CN0332 - Montgomery, AL - U.S. Benchmarks on Waymarking.com

While the description says this was a seed company warehouse, it appears that it is no longer associated with that company. It is easy to spot on the west side of Jackson Ferry Road. Someone spray painted a circle around the benchmark, making it easier to locate. I found this benchmark on a Sunday afternoon when there was little traffic. The datasheet coordinates put me on the east side of the road, so I have used my own coordinates. There are more photos on the geocaching web page as it has been found a few times.

The 1968 description from the datasheet reads:

DESCRIBED BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1968 1.3 MI N FROM MONTGOMERY. ABOUT 1.3 MILES NORTH ALONG THE WESTERN RAILWAY OF ALABAMA FROM THE CITY WATER WORKS BUILDING AT MONTGOMERY, ABOUT 0.2 MILE NORTH OF MILEPOST 174, ABOUT 0.15 MILE NORTHEAST ALONG JACKSON FERRY ROAD FROM THE JUNCTION OF NORTH COURT STREET, SET VERTICALLY IN THE EAST CONCRETE FACE OF THE FOUNDATION FOR THE METAL WAREHOUSE OF THE STEGALL SYLVEST SEED COMPANY, 60 FEET NORTHWEST OF AND ACROSS THE ROAD FROM THE NORTHWEST RAIL, 2.1 FEET NORTH OF THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF THE BUILDING, 1.7 FEET ABOVE THE LEVEL OF THE GROUND AND ABOUT LEVEL WITH THE ROAD AND THE TRACK.
