This skate park is part of Castlegar's Rec Plex. It was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Castlegar and has a large (about 3 feet tall) Rotary Monument at the entrance.

The skate park is located at the south end of the Rec Plex building, right beside the parking lot. This skate park is just a small part of what the rec plex has to offer. In the complex are swimming and wading pools, a hockey arena, weight and fitness rooms, a whirlpool, convention and meeting rooms, a seniors' centre, the skate park, a playground, tennis courts, and a soccer field.
Snow's almost gone, meaning the skateboarders will be out crashing and banging very soon. This is a cool looking park with lots of doo dads and gee gaws. Not being a boarder myself, I would guess that there are dozens of ways an inventive kid could work out for breaking a few bones here. Lots of ups and downs, rails and ramps and plenty of nice soft concrete to land on with a splat! As well, there's a big bowl that looks like it would be great for loosening teeth and flattening noses!
Bicycles are allowed to use the park, as well, making this a multi use park.
