Holborn Viaduct is the name of a road and bridge that crosses the valley of the River Fleet connecting Holborn in the west to Newgate in the east. The viaduct balustrades have four human figures perched on them of which this is one.

The female figure, slightly larger than life-size, dressed in robes is mounted atop a granite pedestal. She holds nothing in here hands. The right arm is extended away from the waist with palm showing and fingers extended. The left arm is bent at the elbow with the wrist resting against her hip. On her head she has a crown of sorts. On the base there is a pair of keys and across the front of the base is the word "Commerce".
