I watched this earth home as it was being built about 20 years ago. It's located right on Hwy 67, that runs along the Mississippi River.
At that time, all of the bushes and trees in the front yard weren't there.
Last year, they built a garage, partly underground, and then added a gazibo on top.
There's one problem that few people think about. - How do you add extra space?
My sister and her husband built an earth home, but I can't claim it at this waymark. Their family out grew the house. They stripped off the earth, and added a 2nd story. Now it looks like a regular house.
