This monument is dedicated to the men from Torres Vedras municipality who died serving in the Colonial Wars (Angola, Mozambique and Guinea) from 1961 to 1975.

The main element is a statue of a soldier carrying a dead comrade, while a set of three civilians observe the scene, from across the monument square. On the 4 faces of the monument's plinth, there are lists with the names of all those who never returned to their families.
