UPDATE: 03/20/2018
I came back to photograph the newly completed stairway and this mural was gone. The steps were retiled in 2013. The mural was just there during the fundraiser. Now there is a decorated bench and a plaque on the left wall and a artistic tiled "Hidden Gardens" sign on the right wall. The original mural and this bench are both credited to Woodside International School and the artwork of each was similar.
The organizers of the Hidden Garden Steps project wanted a mural to alert the neighbors about the project and to involve neighboring schools.

Inspired by the nearby Moraga Stairway, a new mosaic-tiled stairway has been planned to beautify the 16th Avenue stairs.

The concrete wall face on either side of the stairway entrance is painted with a mural in a similar fashion to the design planned for the steps. On the left is a twig with green leaves, flowers, lady bugs and other insects. The URL for the hidden garden project os in the upper left corner and across the bottom are the words "Sponsor a tile at hiddengardensteps.org". On the right is another mural with a twigs, flowers insects and the words "Help tile these steps" across the bottom. The artist's signatures are in the lower left corner.
