This is an early model gas pump, popular during the early years of Route 66, which passed by right in front of the museum on its way through Kingman and then northwestern Arizona. It is of the type where the gasoline was manually pumped into a guage at the top of the pump until the desired amount had been reached, then drained by gravity into the tank of the vehicle.
