The sign board is sited just inside and to the left of the Grange Lane Entrance to the park. Nearby are the remains of Monk Bretton Priory. There is a car park very near to this entrance and another from Pontefract Road. Both free parking. In the park is a large lake with angling access, the river Dearne and a section of the old Barnsley Canal along with wildlife and nature walks.
