Balloons in June occures each year during the weekend following Fathers Day. This year, Balloons in June starts in Downtown Clinton, Iowa. At 8:00pm on Thursday, June 22, 2006 it will start with a night glow on 5th Ave. S.
Friday evening at 6:00pm a flight of 25 to 30 balloons is scheduled to take off from the Clinton Municipal Airport at the above coordinates. 15 of them are scheduled to return to the airport for a night glow at 8:00pm.
A Saturday morning flight is scheduled for 6:00am. with another flight set to begin at 6:00pm. Several balloons are scheduled to return for another night glow.
Sunday morning, the final flight is scheduled to begin at 6:00am.
Pancake breakfasts will be served both Saturday and Sunday morning at the airport. Other meals will also be served by the Clinton County Cattlemens Assoc. and Clinton County Pork Producers. Other activities occuring throughout the days will include a volleyball tournament and keg-throwing contest.
Balloons in June is free to the public and balloonists. Contests and tournaments may have entry fees. For more information go to www.balloonsinjune.us.
