The Shoreacres bridge is so named because the nearest community, a part of Crescent Valley, is Shoreacres. It was built in 1962 to replace the previous, ageing bridge. Its total length is about 400 feet and it stands about 50 feet above the river. It was dedicated in 1962 by the Hon P. A. Gaglardi, then Minister of Highways.
BTW, for those benchmark hunters, NRCAN benchmark 474J is located at the south end of the adjacent railroad bridge, "in west face of coping of west stone retaining wall at south end of bridge." (NRCAN)
