Cette statue triomphante est situé dans le centre de la Place d'Iéna à Paris. Il dépeint George Washington (1732-1799), comme il serait apparu pendant la guerre d'Indépendance américaine, où il a servi comme général et commandant en chef de l'armée continentale. Les Filles de la Révolution américaine commandée célèbre sculpteur Daniel Chester français et Edward C. Potter pour créer la version originale de ce monument comme un don du gouvernement français. Il a été dévoilé et inauguré à Paris le 3 Juillet 1900.
Il s'agit d'une double vie-taille statue en bronze de Washington à cheval. Il dépeint Washington, la tête haute, en tenue militaire complète, y compris un manteau militaire de haut col et pantalon rentré dans presque genou haut bottes d'équitation. Il a les rênes dans sa main gauche et a le bras droit levé haut, l'épée à la main, pointés vers le ciel. Le cheval est représenté avec sa tête vers le bas et son sabot avant droit levé.

This triumphant statue is located in the center of Place d'Iena in Paris. It depicts George Washington (1732–1799) as he would have appeared during the American Revolutionary War, when he served as General and Commander in Chief of the Continental Army. The Daughters of the American Revolution commissioned renowned sculptors Daniel Chester French and Edward C. Potter to create the original version of this monument as a gift to the French government. It was unveiled and inaugurated in Paris on July 3, 1900.
It is a double life-size bronze statue of Washington on horseback. It depicts Washington, with head held high, in full military dress, including a high-collared army coat and pants tucked into nearly knee high riding boots. He has the reins in his left hand and has his right arm raised high, with sword in hand, pointed skyward. The horse is depicted with its head down and its right front hoof raised.
The text of the statue, in French, reads as follows:
