The benchmark is located 1.1 miles from the Crib Gap Trailhead (WMF8MH) where the trail parallels Laurel Creek Road and is at a slightly higher elevation than the road. The benchmark is about 15 yards off Laurel Creek Road. Grib Gap Trail crosses Laurel Creek Road about 75 yards from the benchmark but there is no trail sign at the crossing.

The easiest way to find the disk is from where the trail crosses the road but the crossing is not obvious. There is room to park across the road from the trail.

The disk itself is in good condition. The concrete base is deteriorating.
