"THE BELL
This long-standing local landmark was designated a grade II listed building in 1988, having been built exactly a century earlier. It was accessed through a large carriage arch, with gates, and provided 'first-class accommodation ... wines and spirits of best brands, excellent stabling and a motor garage'. The Bell replaced an earlier public house, on the same site, known as The Bell Tap. In 1822, it was recorded as one of Amesbury's four inns.
These premises were refurbished by J D Wetherspoon in June 2012."
